Questions about choosing, pricing, financing and trading in a golf cart or LSV at Parts 'n Carts in Sun City Center, FL.
What is the difference between a golf cart and an LSV?
A traditional golf cart and a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) may look similar, but legally they are very different.
In Florida, an LSV is a titled, registered and insured motor vehicle with a top speed greater than 20 mph but no more than 25 mph. It must also meet specific federal and Florida safety-equipment requirements.
A traditional golf cart generally has fewer registration requirements, but where it can legally be driven is much more restricted and can depend on local ordinances.
If you’re unsure which is right for you, we’ll be happy to discuss how and where you plan to use your vehicle.
Should I buy a golf cart or an LSV?
It depends primarily on where you plan to drive.
If you’ll be using your vehicle primarily within a golf-cart-approved community such as Sun City Center, a traditional golf cart may meet your needs.
If you live in Apollo Beach, Ruskin, Wimauma, Parrish or another community where you want greater access to public roads, an LSV may be the better option.
Tell us where you live and how you plan to use your vehicle and we can help explain the differences.
What brands does Parts 'n Carts sell?
Parts ‘n Carts offers several leading golf cart and LSV brands, including Club Car, Denago EV, DACH and ICON EV, along with a changing selection of quality pre-owned vehicles.
Because inventory changes frequently, contact us or view our current inventory online for today’s available models.
Why should I buy from an authorized golf cart dealer?
Buying from an authorized dealer gives you access to manufacturer-backed products, trained support, genuine parts and proper warranty procedures.
It also gives you a local business to turn to for service, parts, accessories, recalls and warranty assistance after the sale.
A golf cart or LSV is a significant purchase. Who supports it after you buy it can be just as important as the initial price.
Can I test-drive a golf cart before I buy it?
Yes. We encourage customers to experience the vehicle before making a final decision whenever the vehicle is available for demonstration.
Different carts can feel very different in ride quality, steering, braking, seating position and acceleration.
Do you sell new and used golf carts?
Yes. We offer both new and pre-owned vehicles.
Our pre-owned inventory changes regularly, so contact us if you’re looking for a particular brand, passenger configuration or price range.
Should I buy new or used?
Both can be excellent choices.
A new vehicle provides the latest technology, factory warranty and the ability to select your preferred features.
A quality used vehicle can provide excellent value for customers who don’t necessarily need the newest model.
We recommend comparing the vehicle’s age, batteries, condition, maintenance history, warranty and expected use rather than looking at price alone.
What should I look for when buying a used golf cart?
Pay particular attention to:
- Battery age and condition
- Tires
- Brakes
- Steering and suspension
- Charger condition
- Electrical system
- Frame condition
- Vehicle age
- Maintenance history
- Any modifications
- Warranty coverage
A low purchase price can quickly become expensive if the vehicle needs batteries, tires, suspension repairs and other deferred maintenance.
How much does a golf cart cost?
Pricing varies considerably depending on brand, model, battery technology, passenger capacity, accessories and whether the vehicle is new or pre-owned.
Rather than quoting a generic price that may not reflect what you need, we recommend choosing the type of vehicle first and then comparing appropriately equipped vehicles.
For typical price ranges by category, see our golf cart price guide.
Do you offer financing?
Financing options may be available on qualifying vehicle purchases.
Programs, rates and terms can change, so please contact our Sales Department for current financing options and eligibility requirements.
Can accessories be included in my financing?
Depending on the financing program, approved accessories and upgrades installed as part of the vehicle purchase may be eligible to be included.
Ask our Sales Department when building your vehicle.
Do you accept trade-ins?
Yes. We regularly evaluate golf carts for trade.
Trade values depend on brand, model, age, condition, battery condition, equipment and current market demand.
How do you determine the value of my trade?
We evaluate the complete vehicle, including its age, condition, batteries, tires, body, mechanical condition, accessories and current resale market.
Providing accurate information and photos before your visit may help us give you an initial indication of value, although final value generally requires inspection.
Can I sell you my golf cart without buying another one?
Possibly. Our purchasing needs depend on current inventory and market demand.
We may also have other options available, such as consignment. Contact us with details about your vehicle and we’ll let you know what options are currently available.
Start with our Sell Your Golf Cart form and we will contact you with an offer.
Can I customize my golf cart before delivery?
Absolutely.
Depending on the vehicle, we can help with wheels, tires, seating, lighting, mirrors, electronics, storage, enclosures and many other accessories.
We recommend discussing modifications before purchase so the vehicle can be configured correctly from the start.
Should I buy a 2-passenger, 4-passenger or 6-passenger vehicle?
Think about how you’ll actually use the vehicle most of the time.
A 2-passenger vehicle is compact and practical for couples. A 4-passenger vehicle offers much more flexibility for family and guests. A 6-passenger vehicle is useful for larger families or frequent passengers but requires more space to maneuver and store.
We can help you compare them in person.
Is a lifted golf cart better?
Not necessarily.
Lifted carts can offer increased ground clearance and a distinctive appearance, but larger tires and suspension changes can alter ride quality, steering, braking and ease of entry.
For normal neighborhood driving, many customers prefer the comfort and accessibility of a non-lifted vehicle.
